Client case study March 2025 → July 2026 Travel & ground transportation · Nassau, The Bahamas Engagement live

From one page of demand to owning the arrival.

Simon's Transports Bahamas came to RankFast ranking on a handful of airport-transfer keywords and unable to tell where a single booking came from. Seventeen months later the business captures more than a million search impressions a year, is cited inside AI answers, and runs paid search with a measured cost per booked ride.

The client

A real operator in a market owned by aggregators

Simon's Transports Bahamas is a family-run ground transportation company operating out of Nassau. Private airport transfers, chauffeured car service, executive protection, at-disposal hire, island tours and boat charters, serving Lynden Pindling International, Atlantis, Baha Mar, the cruise port, and the outer islands of Exuma and Abaco.

The business is led by Adeline Simon, who runs operations, dispatch and marketing decisions personally. She is exacting about the brand: chauffeurs, not taxi drivers. Island luxury and elegance, not budget transfer. Every line of published copy passes through her.

The competitive problem was structural. Searches like transportation from Nassau airport to Atlantis are dominated by OTAs, tour aggregators, TripAdvisor threads and Reddit, content businesses with no cars and no drivers, but enormous domain authority. A single-location operator has to earn every position.

Where we picked her up

March 2025: ranking, but not competing

The site was not broken. That was the difficulty. It ranked respectably: positions #2 to #4 on roughly a dozen airport-transfer phrases, and that was the entire business. Around 1,000 organic clicks a month from a 26,000-impression footprint. No blog, no route-level pages, no hotel pages, no Exuma or Abaco coverage, and nothing addressing the questions travellers actually ask before they land.

Underneath that, the operational picture was worse than the ranking picture. Search Console access was not fully granted until 29 April 2025. The Google Business Profile was unmanaged. There was no social presence, no paid media, and, critically, no attribution of any kind. Asked in early 2026 how she knew where a booking came from, Adeline's answer was simply that she could not tell.

Diagnosis

Five problems, only one of which was technical

01

A footprint, not a strategy

The site ranked for what it happened to be about. Nobody had ever mapped the actual search universe around a Bahamas arrival: airport to resort, resort to resort, cruise port, outer islands, tours, charters.

02

No demand capture before the trip

Travellers research Nassau weeks before they fly. Every one of those queries (what to do, where to shop, how taxis work, which hotel) was being answered by somebody else.

03

Head terms under siege

Aggregators and, increasingly, AI Overviews were compressing click share on exactly the dozen phrases the business depended on. Ranking #2 was worth measurably less each quarter.

04

Technical debt

Non-clickable logo, weak internal linking, no structured data, uncompressed imagery, indexing and URL inconsistencies, thin or empty pages diluting the estate.

05

A blind funnel

Bookings arrived through a third-party Limo Anywhere iframe with no tracking, no source data and no visibility. Marketing spend could not be judged against revenue because revenue could not be traced.

1 / 5

Only the technical debt was a build problem. The other four were strategy.

Mar 2025: Onboarding & kickoff

Mar 2025

Onboarding & kickoff

WhatsApp war-room opened 5 March. Kickoff call 6 March. Client workbook, website logins and analytics handed over. Keyword shortlist approved by Adeline within two weeks.

Apr to May 2025

Foundation: technical + on-page

Site architecture restructured, non-clickable logo fixed, images compressed, indexing and URL issues cleared, schema deployed. Meta titles and descriptions rewritten across the estate. Full Search Console access finally granted 29 April.

May to Aug 2025

Content engine switched on

Blog section built from zero. Service and destination pages written for Nassau, Paradise Island, Atlantis, Exuma and Abaco. Client-driven corrections absorbed: shared shuttles removed from all copy, first-person voice enforced, hotel list rebuilt around Baha Mar, Breezes, Sandyport, Albany, Island House and Orange Hill.

Aug 2025

The dip

Clicks fell to 781 and average position slid to #18.6, the only regression in the engagement. New pages were being ingested and re-evaluated while approvals stalled during the client's vacation. RankFast published the pending queue rather than let momentum die.

Sep to Nov 2025

Recovery and breakout

Positions recovered from #18.6 to #7.6 in three months. Impressions nearly doubled from 41.7k to 81.1k as the route and blog estate started ranking together. First 31-day work report delivered 2 September.

Dec 2025 to Mar 2026

Peak organic performance

Four consecutive record months. December broke 100k impressions, January broke 2,000 clicks, March hit the all-time high of 2,473 clicks at an average position of #6.26. AI Overview appearances documented and shared with the client on 8 December.

Jan to Feb 2026

The strategic pivot

RankFast flagged that competitors and AI Overviews were absorbing click share on head terms even where Simon's ranked #1. Proposal made to hold blog volume up (8 → 12/month at no extra cost) and redirect budget into Google and Meta ads. Social media and paid strategy scoped with the client.

Mar to May 2026

Commercial expansion signed

Multi-channel proposal negotiated and signed with Adeline: social media management, Meta ads and Google Ads, with cost-per-booked-ride as the primary KPI. A dedicated conversion-focused landing page was built and shipped.

May to Jun 2026

Tracking infrastructure

Google Ads manager access, Limo Anywhere access and Meta assets onboarded. Conversion tracking built through GTM for Booked Rides, Calls and Quote Requests, the first time the business could attribute a booking to a channel. Test bookings run end-to-end against the live reservation system.

30 Jun 2026

Paid search goes live

First Google Ads search campaign launched at $25/day targeting Nassau, USA and Canada. Amex/Visa/MC/Discover messaging added at the client's request after she identified card acceptance as a deciding factor for bookers.

Jul 2026

Paid optimisation + social launch

Cost per conversion cut from $77 to $24 within two weeks. Campaign briefly paused mid-month to validate zero-fare reservations and re-verify conversion tracking, then re-enabled. Instagram account created and the first reels published.

Results: organic search

The demand footprint grew . Clicks followed.

Impressions are the honest leading indicator: they measure how much of the market's search demand a site is eligible to win. Simon's went from being visible on 25,896 searches in April 2025 to 131,528 in January 2026, and clicks tracked that expansion with a lag, as new pages matured and positions consolidated.

Organic clicks, documented Clicks, interpolated All-time peak Search impressions
Read this honestly. The case study documents clicks for Apr to Aug 2025, Jan 2026 and Mar to Jul 2026, and impressions for Apr 2025, Aug 2025, Nov 2025 and Jan 2026. Months without a published figure are drawn in the lighter tone and on the dashed line: they are interpolated for shape continuity, not measured values. Source: Google Search Console, sc-domain:simonstransportsbahamas.com. Data available from April 2025 (16-month API retention window); the engagement began 5 March 2025.

Average position, inverted: higher is better

Positions worsened through mid-2025 as a large volume of new pages entered the index at low initial rankings, bottoming at #18.56 in August 2025. They then recovered for seven straight months to an all-time best of #6.26 in March 2026.

Only the five positions explicitly documented in the engagement record are plotted, connected in sequence. No intermediate months have been invented.

Year over year, like for like

Bahamas travel demand is strongly seasonal: December to April is high season, June to September is low. Comparing months against themselves a year apart removes that distortion entirely.

Year-over-year organic click and impression change by month
MonthClicks 2025Clicks 2026ChangeImpressions change
April1,0372,047+97%+312%

June1,1381,815+59%+155%
July (1 to 26)9691,336+38%+100%
Why the numbers dip after March 2026. The April to July decline is seasonal, not a loss of ground, every single one of those months is materially ahead of the same month a year earlier. March 2026 remains the all-time peak at 2,473 clicks.

What actually earns the traffic now

At the start, the homepage was the business. Today it is one asset among forty-five. Two of the site's four highest-earning pages did not exist in March 2025, and the second-biggest traffic driver on the entire domain is a blog post about how to find a taxi, an informational query the company's competitors do not bother to answer, which puts Simon's in front of a traveller before they have chosen anyone.

The route-page architecture

Rather than one generic airport transfers page, the estate was built around the actual journeys people book: airport→Atlantis, airport→Baha Mar, airport→Island House, Exuma, Abaco, Paradise Island, RIU. Each one matches a specific query with a specific commercial answer.

The pre-arrival content layer

Blogs written for the traveller two to six weeks out, keyed to the Bahamas booking calendar agreed with the client: spring-break content shipping November to December, winter travel in October to November, hotel-event content two months ahead.

Winning ground, and where ground was lost

This is the most instructive table in the case study, because it does not all point one way. Simon's gained positions #1 and #2 on a whole class of commercial terms that did not exist for the business before, and simultaneously slipped on several of the original head terms as Google reshaped those results pages around AI Overviews and aggregator carousels.

Net effect: non-brand organic clicks grew 68% across the comparison quarters, because the estate now wins on breadth rather than depending on a dozen contested phrases.

Three head terms eroded. Eight new commercial terms opened. That trade is the entire strategic argument for breadth.

On all our keyword targets, these competitors are taking up all the search space. Along with AI Overviews we are losing clicks, even though we have AI Overview rankings and Google number-one rankings, the competitors are going all out.

What happened next

The paid-media pivot began the same week.

Channel risk was identified from the data while organic was at its all-time peak, not after a bad quarter. Five months later the business had conversion tracking, a live search campaign and a measured cost per booked ride.

Results: demand geography

Three quarters of the demand is booked before the plane lands

This distribution is the commercial validation of the whole content strategy. The traffic is not local people looking for a ride, it is North American travellers researching their arrival in advance, which is precisely the customer who books a private transfer rather than queuing at the taxi rank.

Results: AI visibility

One in twelve visits now arrives from an AI assistant

The AEO and GEO work (answer-first page structure, FAQ blocks covering pickup, luggage, travel time, private-versus-shared, and transportation schema) was deployed on the bet that assistants would become a real referral channel. It has. Over the last 30 days, 345 sessions, roughly 8% of all traffic, came from ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Perplexity, Kagi and Brave. ChatGPT alone sent 321 sessions and is the site's third-largest referrer behind Google organic and direct.

What made it work

Five decisions that produced most of the result

1

Build routes, not services

Every page maps to a journey somebody actually books. Airport→Atlantis and airport→Baha Mar together produce 1,115 clicks a quarter from pages that did not exist.

2

Answer the pre-arrival question

Taxi guides, shopping guides, arrival tips, hotel comparisons. Low commercial intent per visit, enormous reach, and it reaches the traveller before a competitor does.

3

Take the taxi demand anyway

The client objected to taxi keywords on brand grounds. RankFast argued for a controlled test. Taxi nassau and its variants now generate over 100 organic clicks a quarter into a luxury chauffeur offer.

4

Structure for machines, not just crawlers

Answer-first formatting, FAQ blocks and transportation schema built for AI Overviews and assistants, now 8% of all sessions and growing.

5

Diversify before you have to

The paid and social pivot was proposed in January 2026 while organic was at its all-time peak, not after a decline. Channel risk was identified from the data, not from a bad quarter.

What slowed it down

The friction, stated plainly

A case study that only reports what went right is a brochure. These were the real constraints on velocity, and two of them are still open.

Biggest drag

Approval latency

Content sat awaiting client sign-off for two to six weeks at a time, repeatedly, across the entire engagement. Every month of delayed publishing is a month of delayed indexation and ranking maturity. In August 2025 RankFast made the call to publish the pending queue during the client's vacation rather than lose the quarter, and positions recovered from #18.6 to #7.6 over the following three months.

Still open

Third-party booking software with no seam

Limo Anywhere offered no usable conversion visibility, its support team was slow to engage, the Book Now button broke silently, and the form accepted invalid payment details. Two months of the paid-media build were spent working around a system RankFast does not control.

Resolved

The August 2025 regression

The only month clicks fell year-on-year. A large tranche of new pages entered the index simultaneously while approvals stalled; average position bottomed at #18.56. Recovered fully by October.

Outside anyone's control

Head-term erosion

Nassau airport transportation fell from #2.6 to #6.3 despite the page improving, because Google inserted AI Overviews and aggregator modules above the organic results. The answer was breadth, not a better title tag.

Still open: asset supply. Images for new pages were requested in July 2025 and again in October, November and beyond. Photography remains the rate limiter on social content today.
Where she is now

A marketing function, not a ranking

The measurable outcome is 24,232 organic clicks and 1.18 million impressions. The structural outcome matters more: in March 2025 Simon's Transports had a website that ranked. In July 2026 it has a marketing system: a content estate that compounds, a paid channel with a measured cost per booking, an emerging social presence, presence inside AI answers, and for the first time the ability to trace a booking back to the channel that produced it.

The relationship expanded accordingly, from a single-service SEO retainer to a multi-channel engagement covering organic, paid search, paid social, social media management and attribution, with cost per booked ride as the agreed primary KPI and a fee structure that adjusts against it.

Immediate priorities

Fix the Limo Anywhere booking flow so non-brand paid traffic can convert. Move the search campaign to Maximize Conversions. Establish the cost-per-booked-ride benchmark that the fee model adjusts against.

Next quarter

Launch Meta ads. Scale Instagram and Facebook off the approved content calendar. Ship the marketing attribution dashboard. Extend route pages to Ocean Club, Albany, Graycliff, Goldwynn and Margaritaville.

Open opportunity

The cruise-passenger segment, identified by the client in February 2026 and still largely untapped. Corporate and conference travel via LinkedIn: the Caribbean Development Bank campaign in June 2026 was the first proof of concept.
